The surgeons and staff of East Valley Outpatient Surgery are fully dedicated to making your surgical experience as easy and peaceful as possible. In addition, you and your family members or friends are important members of the care team.
Your role is to take the time to learn about your surgery—how to prepare, what’s going to happen, and what to expect afterward. If you have questions, ask!
Visitors
We understand that you may feel more comfortable when you have someone at the center while the surgery is performed. And it is vital that you have someone available to drive you home. Arrange to have a trusted family member or a close friend go with you to the surgery center. This one person is required to accompany you and stay in our waiting room during your surgery. We will make sure he or she is informed about your progress.
- The size of our waiting area is limited. To assist us in the prevention of disease, additional visitors are not allowed in our surgical facility.
- Please make appropriate arrangements for child care outside of our office. No children are allowed inside the facility. We appreciate your understanding.
- Your surgeon will let your escort know when would be an appropriate time to see you after the surgery. Depending on the type of surgery, he or she may be allowed to see you shortly after surgery or even right away.
- The doctor will also let you know if it is necessary for someone to stay with you the first night post operative or if you are safe to be alone.
After the surgery is performed, your recovery begins. According to the type of surgery, recovery time can vary. Read more about your Recovery and Going Home.
